Description
Boat Builders Rare Original Model Sheet (Walt Disney, 1938). Mickey, Donald, and Goofy are on the job in Boat Builders and it's up to Goofy to set up the mermaid figurehead at the bow of the ship. Unfortunately, he has a huge crush on the carving so big you can spot it in the model sheet in this lot. The model sheet for the Ben Sharpsteen-directed short is composed of three trimmed drawings attached to 12 field 3-peghole paper with backing; one of the figurehead, another of its construction, and a final height comparison of a heart-eyed Goofy, the figurehead, and Mickey. Artists and animators on the production would refer to the sheet while working and it would help them keep the characters and props consistent. Each graphite with color pencil drawing is detailed and ranges from approximately 3'' x 8.75'' to 4.25'' x 1.5'', each with areas of white paint corrections. One also has a hand-written Walt Disney Productions copyright. Fair to Good condition with age-related toning, some smudging, and residue from where the drawings were attached.Auction Info
