Description

Bambi Character Movement Model Sheet Drawing (Walt Disney, 1942). These are original pencil drawings of animal movement studies by Rico LeBrun who was an established Italian artist teaching at Chouinard Institute in the late 1930s. He was employed by Disney Studios to instruct animators on how to draw animals in motion for their upcoming production of Bambi. In the course of his time with Disney, Mr. LeBrun prepared a book of the skeletal system of deer for the artists to use as reference. His art was copied onto animation paper with typed notes added. These are two of his original drawings drawn for the book. They are graphite on 16 field, 5-peghole animation paper with notes on movement on both pages. These are important historical Disney studio drawing that show the extent the studio went to get things just right. The pieces show edge wear, small tears, and some minor handling wear; otherwise, condition is Very Good. From the Cecil Beard Archives.
