    Description

    Bambi Character Movement Model Sheet Drawing (Walt Disney, 1942). Original pencil drawings of animal-movement studies by Rico LeBrun, an Italian artist affiliated with Los Angeles' Chouinard Art Institute. Walt Disney, aware that his production of Bambi would be held to certain standards of realism, recruited LeBrun to instruct the animators in lifelike increments of motion. (Disney had usurped another Bambi project, a live-action natural drama that had been planned by the Korda Bros.' studio in England.) LeBrun prepared a book of the skeletal system of deer as a standard reference. His art was copied onto animation paper, annotated. These drawings consist of graphite on 16-field, 5-peghole animation paper with notes on movement on both pages. These documents show the studio's dedication to getting things right. Dimensions, 15.5" x 12.5". Edge wear, small tears, and handling wear; otherwise, the condition is Very Good.
