Description
Atlantis: The Lost Empire Character Rough Model Sheets Prints Group of 83 (Walt Disney, 2001). "...in a single day and night of misfortune, the island of Atlantis disappeared into the depths of the sea. -Plato, 360 B.C." Conceived over a plate of Mexican food in a Burbank restaurant, film makers Don Hahn, Gary Trousdale, Kirk Wise, and Tab Murphy began writing the screenplay for what would be Disney's first animated science fiction feature film, Atlantis: The Lost Empire. The film is set in 1914 and tells the story of an inexperienced young adventurer who becomes the key to unraveling an ancient mystery when he joins up with a group of daredevil explorers to find the legendary lost empire of Atlantis. From Walt Disney Feature Animation's 41st film, we present an extraordinary collection of 83 rough model sheets. These are roughs from the character development stage of the process. The 11" x 17" copies show the characters from different angles and include not only the lead characters but secondary and tertiary characters. Many of the copies include a Robert Crumb Groucho stamp where directors, Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise would approve and initial the design. Condition of these rare model sheet copies is Very Good.Auction Info
