Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore Winnie the Pooh Animation Drawing and Matching Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1983). "But why call it Pooh-sticks? I started with fur cones." "You did, Pooh, but sticks were easier to man." One of the many charming aspects about Winnie the Pooh are Pooh's conversations with the narrator. The two have a little chat about Pooh's new game Pooh-sticks on the bridge overlooking the river in this scene from Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore, shown in the 16 field cel and 12 field animation drawing in this lot. The featurette was the last of Disney's four featurettes and was based on chapters from the books Winnie the Pooh and House on Pooh Corner. Both are matching, numbered 67 in the lower right corner, and measure about 1.5'' x 1.5''. The drawing is rendered in graphite with color pencil and the cel has been carefully hand-painted. They appear at roughly 5:43 when Pooh gazes off the bridge and questions the narrator's choice of working for his game, which involves tossing two sticks (or fur cones) into the river and seeing which comes out from under the bridge first. The cel is displayed on a print background of the scene for presentation purposes and both of these amazing pieces of Disney's Winnie the Pooh are in Very Good condition and exhibit like edge and handling wear and faint paint debris on the cel.Auction Info
