Walt Disney Studios -- "Song of the South" Hand Painted Limited Edition Cel. (1986). "The Laughing Place." Art from "Song of the South" is highly prized more for its rarity than content. Disney has repressed this film and the art from it because of the racial content and today's climate of political correctness. Even though the film has been released to video in foreign countries, it is the only Disney feature never released on video in its entirety in the United States. Only four hand painted cels have been released commemorating the animated sequences from the film. This was one of the first pair. It was also the first set released with full color print backgrounds from Disney. Image area is 14.5" x 10.5." Edition 58/350. A rare find.
