    Description

Walt Disney Studios -- "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" Original Hand Painted Production Cel and Courvoisier Background. (1937). Snow White stretches her arms as she yawns in this expressive original cel. Her classic three quarter figure is mounted on a copy of a Disney ozalid model sheet and gives this set up the look of a colored character study. From the delicacy of her red lips to the hairline precision of the inking, this is a wonderful example of the lost art of cel painting. There are small paint separations throughout the character, but all the paint is intact and this cel displays beautifully. Snow White is 4.5" x 4.75" and the background area measures 5.75" x 5.75."

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
