Here is a rare and remarkable collection of original storybook artwork by Disney artists Brice Mack (1917 - 2008) and Dick Kinney (1916 - 1985) that focuses on Peter's interaction with the Indian tribe on Neverland Island. The entire interior art for the book is here, with 26 illustrations in all including some that were not featured in the book. The art is housed in a set of matted displays, each measuring approximately 21.5" x 14.5" with clear plastic covers that are neatly attached with black tape; each display has two set holes along one edge. The first display shows the title page 1 teepees on the bluff (in an 8.25" x 6.5" mat), while on the other side is art from pages 2 with John and Michael (mat size 8" x 6") and Peter flying (8.5" x 8"). Display #2 has two unmarked pages that appear to be original pages 4 (8" x 8") and 5 (8.5" x 8.25") with the boys flying to Neverland; on the other side, published page 4 (noted as page 6) with Peter showing the boys his hideout (8.25" x 8.5") and page 5, meeting the Lost Boys (8.25" x 8"). Display #3 has a double-page spread in two mats with a slim divider showing Peter and his gang on the run from pages 6 and 7 (both apertures 8.5" x 8.5") and on the reverse, page 8, John finding footprints (8" x 8") and page 9 with a group meeting (8" x 7"). Display #4 has page 10, Michael discovering an Indian foot in the brush (8" x 7.5") and page 11, John talking to the Lost Boys (8" x 8"); on the other side, pages 12-13 as a single spread, Michael gets shushed by a hand as the others talk (17.5" x 8.5"). Display #5 has pages 14-15 (marked 16 and 17) with two pieces in a single opening of the boys being kidnaped by Indians (17.5" x 8.5) and on back pages 16-17, a single piece spread of the Indian camp marked 18 in the lower left (17.5" x 7.5). Display #6 has page 18 (marked 20) of the boys tied up (8.5" x 8.5") and page 19 with the Indian Chief (8.5" x 10.5", has a scratch on the plastic); on the back, two unused pages, the first marked 22 of the Chief turning (8" x 8.5") and a page with Peter flying in (8.25" x 9"). Display #7 has page 20, Peter greeting the Chief (8.5" x 7.75") and page 21, marked 25, of squaw women offering food (8.5" x 8.5"); on back is page 22, three braves (8.75" x 8.5") and page 23, the boys joining in on a war dance (8.75" x 8.25"). The eighth and final display has the last page in the book, page 24 of the Chief gently carrying sleeping Michael (8.5" x 8.5) with "The End" marked on the mat, while the reverse side is blank. Some of the unused pages may have turned up in later editions; this group comes with a "B" copy, or second printing of the book noted as #D74. The art is in overall Very Good condition with minor handling.
