Description

Disneyland - It's a Small World Model Sheet Print by Alice Davis Group of 14 (Walt Disney, 1964). It really is a small world after all in this rare group of 14 charming model sheet prints created from original art by Disney Legend Alice Davis (1929 - 2022). A skilled costume designer, Alice was tasked with designing costumes for over 150 countries for the Audio-Animatronics® of the "It's a Small World" attraction at the 1964-1965 New York World's Fair with fellow Disney Legend Mary Blair (1911 - 1978). The large 14'' x 17'' personal model sheet prints in this group feature Alice's designs for South America, Central America, and Bolivia with extensive printed notes about the costume color palettes and materials. Each would have helped the artists and designers in their creation of the iconic costumes for the attraction. A similar model sheet drawing appears on Page 223 of Marc Davis' In His Own Words Imagineering the Disney Theme Parks Part 1 by Pete Docter and Christopher Meritt and a print has been included with the lot as reference. Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear and faint toning.
