Mighty Mouse and the Pirates Painted Background Group (Terrytoons, 1945). These are a very unusual pair of backgrounds, taken from a famous Mighty Mouse episode in which all of the dialogue is sung. What makes these two paintings so unique is that all of the area of the pirate ship was cut out with a hobby knife, so that it could be moved independently of the sky in the background -- to simulate the motion of waves! This short was directed by Mannie Davis and Connie Rasinski and released on 1/12/45. Art is in watercolor/gouache on 10" x 12" and 10" x 13" background sheets labeled T-375. One has the Terrytoons stamp at the top border, the second bears the stamp near the bottom. Small amounts of staining from old adhesive near the edges; main "on-screen" image area is left unaffected. These are extremely rare; we don't often see things like this! Both are in Fine condition.
