Mickey's Service Station Animation Art Storyboard (Walt Disney, 1935). Pete brings his car in for repairs (his wheel has a squeak to the tune of "Yankee Doodle"), and Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy work precariously on the machine with disastrous results. Donald Duck scrambles to create a makeshift bridge for Goofy to roll across as he balances Mickey in Pete's car high above the frame in this hilarious original storyboard drawing created for the 1935 Ben Sharpsteen-directed Mickey's Service Station. Storyboards, drawings created for the early story planning of a film, are a very rare find from this classic theatrical short, and this moment featuring an early long-billed Donald design can be seen at the 6:14 mark. The drawing is rendered in graphite with red and blue pencil on 7.5" x 5.75" animation paper. It shows minor handling, edge wear, pinholes indicative of use in the storyboarding process, and a small tear in the upper right corner. Numbered 100 in the lower left corner, the condition is Very Good.
