Mickey's Rival Mortimer Mouse and Bull Animation Drawing Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1936). One of the first times we see a jealous Mickey Mouse is when Minnie is wooed by Mortimer Mouse at a picnic. Mortimer was actually an early name suggested for Walt's most famous creation, before "Mickey" was finally decided on. This is a pair of 12 field, 5-peghole production drawings from this Wilfred Jackson directed short. The first is a 5.25" x 6" image of Mortimer playing toreador around the 3:52 mark. It's rendered in graphite with red and green pencil and numbered 15 in the lower right corner. The second is of the bull that Mortimer teases to entertain Minnie. He measures 2.5' x 7.5 in graphite and red pencil and numbered 35. Both pages show tanning and light handling; otherwise Condition is Fine.
