Mickey's Pal Pluto Devil Pluto Animation Drawing and Pluto Animation Drawing Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1933/40's). Pluto is a hero twice in this short, saving a bunch of kittens from a river and a well. The first in this pair of Pluto production drawings is from an unknown '40s production and features a large close-up of a happy, engaged Pluto with his eyes wide and his ears up. He measures 6" x 5.5", rendered in graphite on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper which is numbered 77 in the lower right corner. The second drawing is his devilish conscience trying to persuade a jealous Pluto into letting the kittens drown in the well. It's a beautiful, full-figure image of Pluto with horns, pitchfork and pointy tail which measures 4.25" x 4", rendered in graphite on 12 field, 2-peghole animation paper numbered 43 in the lower right corner. Drawings of Pluto from the '30s are very rare and this one can be seen around the 5:35 mark in the short. Both pieces show light handling and creases; otherwise, condition is Very Good.
