Description
Mickey's Man Friday Studio Model Sheet (Walt Disney, 1941). A rare vintage Studio photographic paper print of an animator's model sheet for Friday, Mickey's native pal. After the successful Technicolor remake of 1934's Orphan's Benefit, the Disney Studio planned on doing the same with the 1935 short, Mickey's Man Friday. Storyboards, model sheets for the new character designs, and some animation were completed before the project was canceled, for unknown reasons; it's been suggested that the 1941 Cartoonists Strike, or possibly the onset of World War II contributed to this decision. This model sheet was prepared for the remake, showing the old version of Friday next to the newer design. There are twelve images of Friday, and one of Mickey Mouse with his newly designed eyes with pupils. This highly collectible sheet is framed with Glass, matted with an opening of 13" x 10". Minor handling, with fold creases and tape on the borders; Very Good condition.More information about Walt Disney Studios - Fab Five. See also: Fab Five, Disney's Fab Five Artist.
