Mickey's Man Friday Mickey Mouse and Friday Animation Drawings (Walt Disney, 1935/41). Interesting group of two original 12 field 2-peghole animation drawings from the rarely-seen 1935 short, directed by Dave Hand. There were plans in 1941 to remake this cartoon in color; the Mickey drawing here appears to be an original 1935 piece that was reworked for the remake (that was never completed). Mickey has been redesigned in blue pencil and graphite, giving his eyes pupils (but retaining his stationary round ears); the other details seem to fit the original cartoon, as drawn in graphite with color pencil highlights. The entire image measures approximately 3.5" x 7". A new set of five pegholes has been attached to the left side, and the drawing is numbered 47 in the lower right. The second drawing appears to be an unaltered image of Friday using a large bird to help Mickey build his treehouse; this occurs at about 3:31 into the short. The bird is only partially drawn, while Friday is in graphite, measuring about 3". This drawing is numbered 65A in the lower right. Very Good overall condition.
