Mickey's Man Friday Jungle Production Background (Walt Disney, c. 1940s-50s). Presented is a very rare hand-painted original production background believed to be created for a scrapped color version of the David Hand-directed Mickey's Man Friday, originally released to theaters in 1935. Beautifully rendered in watercolor and gouache on 12 field 5-peghole background board, this vivid painting is a detailed depiction of a jungle setting that creates a high-contrast illusion of atmospheric depth. A stunning landscape, this lovely image could stand alone as a fine art painting! The piece shows minor handling and edge wear with evidence of tape around the border. The corners show staple holes, and the overall condition is Very Good.
