Description

Mickey's Man Friday Animation Background Layout Drawing and Studio Folder (Walt Disney Studios, 1935). A gorgeous and highly-detailed background layout drawing from the "Walking a plank over the native's boiling pot" scene, the densely penciled graphite drawing is on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper and marked "Sc. 9 - 15" at the bottom and "Mickeys Man Friday" at top. It is matted with a blue Disney Studio folder for this short. The folder lists Cannon as the animator for the scene. That would be Johnny Cannon who along with Clyde Geronimi did most of the animation on this short. This scene can be seen at about the 54 second mark into the film. There are several detailed production notes on the studio blue folder. The level of detail and beauty of this background layout showcases how the studio was really hitting a creative peak at this time. Toned, with pinholes in layout drawing, and with minor handling wear, these pieces are glass front framed together to an overall size of 28" x 18". In Very Good condition.
