DescriptionMickey's Kangaroo Mickey Mouse Trimmed Production Cel with Painted Background (Walt Disney, 1935). Mickey points to his new pet kangaroo, in this rare trimmed nitrate cel. And we do mean rare – it's believed that there are less than 30 black and white nitrate production cels of Mickey Mouse still in existence! This full-figure image of a classic button-eyed Mickey stands about 2.5"on a nitrate cel fragment measuring approximately 4.75" x 4.75". It's from the David Hand-directed short, Mickey's Kangaroo, which was first shown in theaters on 4/13/1935. You can find this pose at the 3:52 mark in the short; a screen-grab print of this scene is included. With the cel is an original black and white painted Disney Studio background from an unknown short, measuring 5" x 4". This makes for a sweet little setup! Other that the fact that these are trimmed items, condition is Very Good with minor handling wear.
