Mickey Mouse Annual Illustrations Original Art Group of 4 (Walt Disney/Dean & Son, c. 1950s). The worldwide popularity of Mickey Mouse and other classic Disney characters extends far and wide. In the United Kingdom, Mickey and his gang were seen in a series of hardcover book annuals, beginning in 1931. These books were published by Dean and Sons, with artwork produced by the Disney Studios and local artists like William Haughton. Here are four illustrations made for Mickey Mouse Annuals. Each one is painted in gouache and ink on illustration board. The art includes an image of Mickey, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Dumbo making a 4-way telephone call, noted as Page 81 (approximate image size is 9.25" x 8.5", board size 10.75" x 10.5"); a long illustration of Mickey and his flying gear, noted as 72 (image 20.5" x 9", board 23" x 11.5"); Mickey examining a small chest with a magnifying glass as Minnie and a cat look on, noted as 40 (image 9" x 5.75", board 12" x 6.5"); and the title illustration to a story named "The Cleaner of Windows" noted as Page 7 (image 9" x 7").
