Merbabies Underwater Concept Art (Walt Disney, 1938). This short was the last Silly Symphony cartoon. It was made by the Harmon/Ising studio with some Disney artists on loan, as the studio was at that point fully engaged in production on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Rudolf Ising and Vernon Stalling directed Merbabies, which was released on 12/9/38. This is a rare piece of early Disney Studio concept art for this short, done at the Walt Disney Studio. Early story development had fish spotlighting the underwater parade and performances. Interesting pastel on black paper measuring 12" x 9.5". Some scuffing at the spotlight's end, and pinholes in corners, but other than that, a stunning piece of studio concept art. Good condition.
