    Description

Merbabies Animation Drawings Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1938). Merbabies is a "Silly Symphony" cartoon directed by Rudolf Ising and Vernon Stallings and released on 12/9/38. In this lot we have two superb production drawings from Merbabies. In the first image we see a water sprite playing with an oversized air bubble and a cheerful merbaby all draped in pearls, performs her dance in the second piece. The images can be seen around the 06:02 and the 07:03 mark, near the end of the short. Art is in graphite with red pencil; image size is 4" and 6.5" tall, including the big bubble. The drawings are numbered 92 and 3 in the lower right corner, below a production stamp. The artwork was rendered in graphite and colored pencil on 12 field, 2-peghole animation paper. Mild age-related toning, normal handling, and edge wear. Very Good condition.
