Mary Blair Song of the South Character Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1946). This is a rare original character study painting of one of the children from the plantation in Disney's Song of the South by color stylist for the film Mary Blair. Mary Blair filled the roles of background and color stylist for this classic Disney film that combined animation with live-action. It's an adorable illustration of a small boy in period clothes who stands 8" tall. The image is rendered in gouache and pastel on 8.5" x 10.75" textured watercolor paper. Mary Blair's gift for color and composition makes her work truly stand out. Her original concept pieces are highly sought after by collectors. The paper shows handling toning and pinholes. Condition is Very Good.
