Mary Blair "It's a Small World" Russia Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1964/66). In 1964 the Herald Tribune ran an article on Disney's "It's a Small World" ride at the New York World's Fair and in it was mentioned the contribution by Mary Blair: "Color is one of her best-cultivated senses. She presents Asia in warm colors, Africa with a blue and green background, South and Central America in pink, orange and other vivid hues, and Europe in a variety of colors representing its many mixed nationalities." This original concept painting by Mary Blair (1911 - 1978) is her take on Russia with the children dressed in Cossack-style clothes, standing in the checkerboard field in front of a castle. Greens, blues and yellow jump out everywhere in this original Mary Blair painting in gouache on board of 13.5" x 11", and in a frame of 24.5" x 21". There are pinholes in the corners, minor edge wear and handling on the art. Overall condition Very Good. Frame is sold as is.
