Mary Blair "It's a Small World" Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1964/66). "It's a small world after all!" The "It's a Small World" exhibit originally opened at the 1964 World's Fair in New York City, at the UNICEF Pavilion and was sponsored by Pepsi. Disney artist Mary Blair (1911 - 1978) created additional designs and paints when this attraction was moved to Disneyland and opened 6/28/66. Today the ride is in virtually every Disney theme park around the globe. The lobby of the Disneyland resort in Anaheim is covered in reproductions of Mary Blair's Small World concept art. This is an original Mary Blair concept painting created in the development of "It's a Small World" that explores a color pallette of golds, greens and purples. The oversized gouache painting is on 20" x 15" board. Minor handling and pinholes in corners; otherwise condition is Very Good.Auction Info
