Mary Blair "It's a Small World" Arctic Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1964/66). "There's so much that we share, that its time we're aware, it's a small world after all." This iconic Disney attraction was originally created for the Pepsi Pavilion at the 1964 New York World's Fair. It was created to benefit the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and its development was personally overseen by Walt Disney. The ride was such a hit that after the fair ended it was shipped to Disneyland where it reopened on May 28, 1966. "It's a Small World" features over 300 audio animatronic children in traditional costumes from cultures around the world frolicking in the spirit of international unity. According to, this Sherman Brothers song is the most publicly performed song of all time. Offered here is the original Mary Blair (1911 - 1978) concept/Color Key painting featuring the children of the arctic regions. Depicted are two small Eskimo type children fishing off an iceberg that resembles the pavilion. Ms. Blair painted it in gouache on 13" x 11" board. Minor handling with pinholes in corners. Condition is Very Good.
