Mary Blair Cinderella King's Castle Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1950). In the book Magic, Color, Flair: The World of Mary Blair by John Canemaker, he writes, "After suffering difficult postwar years (1945-50), the Disney Studio came roaring back with three blockbuster feature-length cartoons destined to become classics. Mary Blair played a significant role in each film as a designer and especially as a Colorist." This is a remarkable original gouache on board painting of the King's Castle as seen in Cinderella, from the hand of Mary Blair (1911 - 1978). It stands a full 5.5" on a full moonlit night. Stunning color palette, painted on board measuring 9.25" x 9.25". A Disney Castle attributed to Mary Blair is a real find, and this is without a doubt a beautiful piece of Disney art history. Pinholes in the corners, with minor handling wear. Very Good condition.
