Mary Blair Cinderella Coach and Horses Concept/Color Key Painting (Walt Disney, 1950). Mary Blair did a series of Color Key/concept paintings in black and white/gray tones on the "around the strike of midnight" scene and beyond. In fact, Disney Studios used images like these years ago for a Daily Planner/Diary. This is a rare "black and white" Mary Blair (1911 - 1978) concept/Color Key painting of the coach fleeing the castle after the strike of midnight. A great full moon is high above the coachman, coach, and horses galloping to get back to her home. This is a significantly larger gouache on board painting of Mary Blair's, coming in at 19.5" x 9". A truly stunning abstract-in-nature painting and study in color. Tack holes in all four corners and minor handling wear. In Very Good condition.
