Mary Blair Cinderella Castle Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1950). "This is a story about darkness and light, about sorrow and joy, something lost and something found. This is a story about love." These are the opening words from the book Walt Disney's Cinderella, retold by Cynthia Rylant with pictures by Mary Blair. These opening words can also be about the life of Mary Blair (1911 - 1978). This is an outstanding one-of-a kind-concept art painting of Cinderella at her window, gazing at the castle. The Castle clock is at midnight and there is a full moon nearby. The colors on this tempera and watercolor on board masterpiece are amazing. Castle paintings are always in high demand. Plexiglas-front framed with a mat opening of 9" x 6". So much of the film's plotline is conveyed by this one simple painting. Fine condition.
