    Mary Blair Baby Ballet - Fantasia II Concept Art (Walt Disney, 1942). Some of Mary Blair's first work at the Disney studio were for the unmade projects of Penelope and Baby Ballet. The Baby Ballet was a project in development for a proposed Fantasia sequel. It was a ballet performed by babies, in the realm of the original Fantasia "Dance of the Hours" sequence. This is a stunning Mary Blair original pastel of for Baby Ballet. A beautifully detailed pastel and graphite on trimmed 9" paper, this rare piece from her early Disney career is hand-signed on the bottom Mary Blair and dated 8/5/42. This illustration was before her eye-opening trip with Walt Disney and Studio artists to South America. This stunning early Mary Blair original concept art is in a frame of 14.5" x 19" with an oval mat cut opening of 10". Frame is sold as-is. Artwork is in Very Good condition.
