Mary Blair Alice in Wonderland Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1951). "A very merry Who?...To me! Oh You!...A very merry unbirthday to you.....Who me?...Yes You!" So go the lyrics to the delightful song sung between Ed Wynn as the Mad Hatter and Jerry Colonna as the March Hare in Disney's adaptation of Lewis Carol's Alice stories. This is an original concept/Color Key painting of the Mad Hatter's Tea Party table by noted Disney artist and color stylist Mary Blair (1912 -1978). It's a whimsical image of a tea party with tea pots spouting steam on a table surrounded by mismatched chairs in a hedged garden. It's a truly brilliant study of color and design by the talented Mary Blair. This adorable painting from the developmental stages of this popular Disney classic is painted in gouache on 9" x 10" board. Minor surface wear and pinholes in corners. Condition is Very Good.
