Description
The Lion King Adult Simba Production Maquette (Walt Disney, 1994). "This is my kingdom. If I don't fight for it, who will?" Here's one of the most desirable (and difficult to find) original production maquettes from the wildly successful 1994 animated film The Lion King: the adult Simba! This maquette was #3 of only 17 of these production maquettes created for animator reference during the creation of the film, and this is the first adult Simba maquette we've ever come across. Simba's adult version was voiced by Matthew Broderick, and his supervising animator was Ruben Aquino. This beautiful original maquette was cast in resin from an original sculpt by Kent Melton. Production maquettes were a crucial part of the animation process, allowing animators to see characters from all different angles so that they could draw them more consistently and realistically, even for difficult shots. The maquette measures about 10.25" tall, with a base size of about 12.5" x 7". The piece is in Very Good condition, with minor handling, as well as some age-related toning.From the Peter Schneider Collection, President of Disney Feature Animation (1986 - 1999).
