Porky Pig Maquette (Warner Brothers, 1939). From his official introduction in the 1935 short I Haven't Got a Hat to present day, Porky Pig has gone though several design changes. This is an original Schlesinger studio maquette of Porky for his third updated look for 1939. Molded in plaster it stands approximately 9" tall and bears a Leon Schlesinger copyright embossed on back of the base. Original artwork from this studio is extremely rare and this is the very first maquette we have ever seen. The piece has a few scratches, chips, his tail is missing, and the body has been reattached to the base with glue, nevertheless it is in exceptional shape for its age and likely the only one in existence. Condition is Very Good.
