Mickey Mouse Disney World Maquette (Walt Disney, c. 1960s-70s). Harry Holt returned to Disney in the 1960s and joined WED to help out with work on the new theme park opening up in Orlando Florida. He was assigned to WED - Walt Disney Imagineering, to help design attractions at Walt Disney World, EPCOT, Disneyland, and Tokyo Disney. He was the Chief Sculptor to assist in designing sculptural forms for such rides as Haunted Mansion, Country Bear Jamboree, Snow White, and Peter Pan, to name a few. This is Mr. Holt's rare hand-sculpted unpainted maquette of the character that started it all -- Mickey Mouse. Sculpture is clay over a metal foundation, measuring 10", not including the base. The 8" x 7.5" black wood base is hand-signed by Harry Holt (1911-2004). This is a fragile piece -- there are a few cracks, and evidence of a repaired break in Mickey's tail, but overall, the condition is Very Good. Will require third party shipping. From the Harry Holt Collection.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
