DescriptionLove's Labor Won Production Background Art Group of 2 (Terrytoons, 1948). Railroad buffs might get a kick out of these two original hand-painted production backgrounds from a Mighty Mouse short directed by Mannie Davis, and released to theaters o 9/1/48. The are 12 field top-peghole backgrounds, painted in gouache/watercolor with nice outdoor colors. In the short, devious Oil Can Harry has abducted Pearl Pureheart, using a train to make his getaway. The first background, noted as 24, can be seen in online viewings at the 2:51 mark, as Harry (with Pearl in his clutches) awaits the train by the signal switch. The second, noted as 35, is seen at the 3:48 mark as the small dog minister who was riding alongside the train gets caught by the mail hook. Art is painted on skimmed boards with Terrytoons stamps on front and back. Condition is Very Good with minor handling and edge wear.
