Lonesome Ghosts Pan Background Layout Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937). This stunning graphite layout drawing has some amazing perspective and detail to it! The Bert Gillett directed short featured a haunted house that Mickey, Donald, and Goofy visit in an attempt to rid it of ghosts as part of the Ajax Ghost Exterminator Company. This cartoon trio was bustin' ghosts long before Bill Murry and friends! A well-remembered fan-favorite short, it was released on Christmas Eve, 12-24-37 at a time when the Studio was at the height of its shorts. The spooky graphite drawing has an image area of 32.5" x 8" on tanned and folded animation paper. The pan was actually created from several sheets of animation paper taped together from the backside. There are pinholes in the corners with edge and corner wear. The far right margin is labeled "Orig B.G. Sc 28 & 30". It's a beautiful piece of artwork that is in overall Very Good condition. The graphite background is accompanied by printed production notes with hand-written notations for shots from Scene 28, which would have used the very background related to this layout design.
