    Lion Head War II Insignia Painting (Walt Disney, c. 1940s). Disney Studio artists created this exceptional Lion's Head insignia design painting for the 449th Bomber Squadron 3rd Air Force. This elite B-24 Heavy Liberator Bomber saw action in Italy. The colorful painting can be seen on page 87 in the Japanese book on WWII insignia art, Characters of Military. Painted in gouache on board with an 8" image size; includes a Disney Studio "Walt Disney" signature in the lower left. Matted with a 10" x 8" opening, and framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 18" x 16". Finished art of this type is very rare! Fine condition.
