Description

Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree "Tug of War" Pooh, Christopher Robin, Kanga, and Eeyore SOLD-OUT Limited Edition Cel #333/500 (Walt Disney, 1966/1991). "He'll be pulled and he'll be tugged and eventually unplugged. We'll have a tug-of-war to open Rabbit's door!" Long sold out, "Tug of War" is a hand-painted limited edition cel numbered 333/500 from Walt Disney's Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree. Ready for a great heave-ho, Christopher Robin rallies Kanga and Eeyore to unstick that "Silly Ol' Bear" from Rabbit's door-an iconic moment from archived animation for Sequence 1, Scene 628 (1966) and seen around 24:26 timestamp in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977). Created by the Disney Studios Ink and Paint Department, the characters are rendered: Pooh half-figured, while the trio appears full-figured across a painted area of 12.5" x 5.25", stretching nearly the full width. The cel is paired with a recreated printed background for context featuring a Xerographic-linework overlay, prepared by Disney studio artists for display. Issued by Disney Art Editions in 1990-91 in an edition of 500, this example bears its edition number 333 and carries the Disney seal at lower right. A Disney COA accompanies the piece. A charming scene from the Hundred Acre Wood, this long-unavailable release is a rare opportunity for collectors. Presented in Fine condition.
