Description

The Simpsons Layout and Storyboard Artist's Test Packet for Klasky-Csupo Animation Studio Group of 59 (Fox, c. 1987-1991). This rare artist's test packet for The Simpsons, created by the animation studio Klasky Csupo, is a fascinating relic from the early days of the iconic series. Consisting of 59 pages in various sizes - 8.5" x 11", 8.5" x 14", and 12 field-size animation paper - this packet is a comprehensive guide for artists and animators. It includes a layout artist's test, a storyboard artist's test, size comparison charts, and model sheets, complete with detailed suggestions on drawing Simpsons characters. Originating from the late 1980s to early 1990s, this packet was part of Klasky Csupo's foundational work on The Simpsons. The studio, commissioned in 1987 by James L. Brooks of Gracie Films, first produced the title sequence for The Tracey Ullman Show and later, one-minute cartoons featuring the Simpsons family, created by Matt Groening. These cartoons gained immense popularity, leading to The Simpsons becoming a weekly half-hour series on Fox. Klasky Csupo was instrumental in animating the first three seasons of the show. Despite exhibiting signs of age like edge wear, staple holes, and toning, the pages remain in Good condition, capturing a pivotal moment in animation history.
