    Description

The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show Scene Cel Setup (Jay Ward, 1970s/80s). Original hand-inked and hand-painted scene cel of Rocky, Bullwinkle, and Boris and Natasha, with images ranging from 3" to 7". These scene cels were sold at the Dudley Do-Right Emporium on Sunset Blvd., in Hollywood. A letter is on the back stating it was purchased there and signed by Jay Ward at the request of the buyer. It was later signed by the first lady of animation, June Foray, the voice of Rocket J. Squirrel and Natasha. The cel is on a hand-painted Jay Ward Studio production background from an unknown short. Matted and framed with an image area of 12" x 9". It is rare to have both Ward and Foray's signatures together! In Fine condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
