The Bullwinkle Show Memorabilia Group (Jay Ward Studios, 1961). This may be one of the most coveted items for Jay Ward Fans! In 1961 Ward and his staff held a block party by their studio on Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood. The block party was to celebrate that Bullwinkle had joined NBC and was going to be on prime time. At this event, the famous 15 foot statue of Rocky and Bullwinkle was unveiled. A special ribbon was handed out that night to partygoers. In a shot at NBC, for what Jay Ward felt was a lack of promotion, the ribbon reads"Bullwinkle - Exceptional Adequacy Award for helping to promote public apathy toward the Bullwinkle show." It is in its original red and black box with Jay Ward Productions, Inc. printed on the cover. Also, two buttons that read "Bring Back the Bullmoose Party! Bullwinkle's Block Party." Bullwinkle has a Teddy Roosevelt hat on and is saying "Charge!" Other Jay Ward Studio "promotional" stuff is included in this lot as well: Brochures for "Statehood for Moosylvania,Fan club Cards for Boris Badenov and Dudley Do Right, two 1960's Bullwinkle postcards, Soft covered book "Son of Sing Along With Bullwinkle" with JFK references, a Bullwinkle Supporter brochure promoting Bullwinkle on NBC, and an 8" x 11.5" Certificate for the Bullwinkle Fan Club Society. All written with zany Jay Ward humor. The ribbon is the grail of this lot. Ribbon is 10" long. All items have minor handling. From the Pete Burness Archive.
