Song of the South Limited Edition 2-Cel Suite #42/350 (Walt Disney, 1986). To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the release of Song of the South, Walt Disney released a special hand-painted limited edition two-cel suite. One showcased Br'er Rabbit with the Tar Baby, while the second had a scene of Br'er Fox, Br'er Bear, and Br'er Rabbit. The 16 field cels were created by using archived 1946 studio animation drawings. The cels were hand-painted on the Walt Disney Studio lot at the Disney Ink and Paint Department. Br'er Rabbit and Tar Baby is from Sequence 2/Scene 54, while the group of all three came from Sequence 3/Scene 31 (The Laughing Place). The edition size on these two cels was only 350, and has been sold out for over 30 years. This is a rare matched set, with the low number 42 of 350. This matched set rarely comes up for sale. The cels are in mats measuring 21" x 17" with mat opening sizes of 15" x 11". Both limited edition cels are included in this group. Very Good condition.
