In 1997, Walt Disney released the Disney Portrait Series, paying homage to the original Courvoisier cel setups on wood veneer backgrounds. The cels in this series were all hand-inked and hand-painted at the world-famous Disney Ink and Paint Department on the studio lot in Burbank, California. The piece consists of 9 ink colors and 16 paint colors! This cel of Bashful was released in July 1998. The image is taken from sequence 8B scene 7 of Walt Disney's classic film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. All of the cels in the Disney Portrait Series were from scenes originally animated by Fred Moore, Norm Ferguson, Ham Luske, Dick Lundy, and Frank Thomas. The cel measures 7" x 7" and is in the original frame of 9.5" x 9.5" and come with a certificate of authenticity issued by The Walt Disney Company. Fine condition. Frame sold as-is.
