Description
Sleeping Beauty "Dance in the Clouds" Limited Edition Cel #190/250 (Walt Disney, 1999). In this film's finale, Flora and Merryweather still can't agree on the appropriate color of Princess Aurora's gown. As the Princess and Prince dance into the clouds, her dress changes repeatedly from blue to pink as the two fairies keep zapping a color change. Walt Disney Art Classics released this beautiful pan, hand-painted limited edition cel called "Dance in the Clouds." It was an edition of only 250 with half of the edition showing the dress going pink to blue and the other half with dress going blue to pink, essentially creating an edition within an edition. This is the "Blue to Pink" edition and is numbered 190/250. The cel is hand-signed by the Art Stylist for this film, Disney Legend Inductee Mr. Eyvind Earle (1916 - 2000). The image is from Sequence 21, Scenes 39 and 47 which was originally animated by Ken O'Brian. These large characters measure 6" to 8", in a trio of images of the pair. Framed with an impressive mat opening of 11" x 30" with an overall frame size of 19" x 40". A Disney seal is on the cel, and a Certificate of Authenticity is on the back of the frame. This magnificent piece of art has 24 ink line colors and 27 Disney paint colors. It was painted at the Disney Ink and Paint Department, on the studio lot. Condition is Fine.Auction Info
