Popeye "Wimpy's Café" Signed Cel, Studio Proof #12/25 (King Features Syndicate/Fleischer Studios, 1991). In the early 90s, King Features released a series of hand-inked, hand painted limited edition cels featuring the Popeye cast. These were then signed by Fleischer Studios legendary animator Myron Waldman (1908 - 2006). Fantastic, full-body images of Olive Oyl, Popeye, and Wimpy! Waitress Olive (always thinking she is much more elegant than she really is) holds a rose in her mouth and a comb in her hair, like a Spanish senorita as she dances a jig with Popeye. Wimpy, oblivious, chows down on a burger - presumably the first of many. This cel features Waldman's signature in gold ink near the bottom right corner. It is numbered "SP 12/25" near the bottom left corner. Very minor paint loss near the toe of Popeye's right shoe; minor ink loss in some outlined areas throughout. 12 field cel has been placed over a print background for display purposes. COA from King Features included. In Very Good condition.
