DescriptionPopeye "Just A Taste" Signed Limited Edition Cel, # 16/250 (King Features Syndicate, 1990). This one just screams "Fleischer", folks! Popeye ("Aladdin") has decides to share his signature spinach with the friendly genie from the 1939 "two-reeler" short, "Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp". The evil vizier looks on disapprovingly, from around the corner. Throughout the 1990s, King Features released a series of hand-inked, hand painted limited edition cels featuring the classic characters once animated by the Fleischer Studios. These were based upon original art by legendary Fleischer animator Myron Waldman (1908 - 2006), who then hand-signed each piece. "Aladdin" was the last - and the longest - of the three Technicolor two-reel short films produced by the Fleischers in their new Miami studio. Large image of a friendly Popeye and the genie helping himself measure at 8" tall; evil vizier is 4". 12 field cel has been placed over a print background for display purposes. King Features Syndicate seal is affixed to bottom left corner. Cel is numbered 16/250. Mr. Waldman's signature appeals in the bottom right corner. COA from King Features and Toon Art, Inc. is included. In Fine condition.
