    Description

Popeye, Betty Boop, and Koko "Photo Op" Signed Artist's Proof Cel, #44/50 (King Features, 2000). Throughout the 1990s, King Features released a series of hand-inked, hand painted limited edition cels featuring the classic characters once animated by the Fleischer Studios. These were based upon original art by legendary Fleischer animator Myron Waldman (1908 - 2006), who then hand-signed each piece. This cel is titled "Photo Op..." and features perennial favorites, Popeye, Olive Oyl, Swee'Pea, Betty Boop, Pudgy, and Koko! All the biggest Fleischer stars are lined up in a row on a bench, in front of a seaside backdrop. Koko, in his role as photographer, holds aloft a toy bird, to keep the attention of Swee'Pea and Pudgy, and gets ready to squeeze the bulb release on his camera. Two official seals, one from Fleischer, one from King Features, have been placed in both bottom corners. 12 field cel is numbered AP #44/50 and signed by Mr. Waldman in the bottom right. Cel has been placed over a print background for display purposes. COA from King Features and Toon Art, Inc. is included. In Fine condition.
