    Description

Myron Waldman My Hero! Betty Boop and Popeye Limited Edition Cel #1/92 (King Features, 2000). Low number alert! You cannot find a lower number than this... it's #1 of only 92 pieces created! A stupendous black and white hand-painted image inspired by their meeting in 1933's Popeye the Sailor. It was their only on-screen meeting and the one-eyed sailor's first animated feature. This cel was created from an original drawing by Myron Waldman. He was the legendary animator for Fleischer and Famous Studios. This image celebrated Waldman turning 92 in the year 2000. The cel is hand-signed by Waldman, as is the matting. Popeye is 8" tall, and Betty is almost 7" tall in the 12" x 10" mat opening. The image also features Betty's dog Pudgy who first showed up in 1934. The cel bears a King Features seal and is matted and Plexiglas front framed to 19.5" x 18". In Fine condition with a COA on the backside.
