    Description

Mother Goose Goes to Hollywood Cab Calloway, Laurel & Hardy and Jazz Musicians Animation Drawing Group of 4 (Walt Disney, 1938). This lot contains four very rare vintage production drawings from the classic Disney short directed by Wilfred Jackson and featuring caricatures by Disney artist and animator T. Hee. The first is a wonderful, full-figure image of the legendary jazz singer and band leader Cab Calloway who is nicely centered and measures 5.75" x 3" and is numbered 33 in the lower right corner. He can be seen around the 7:00 mark. The second drawing features a trombonist on the left of the page, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy playing instruments on the right of the page along with an array of inkers notes and the number 417 in the lower right corner. This image can be seen around the 7:20 mark. Drawings three and four contain musicians from Cab's band with images ranging from 4.5" to 5.5" tall and are numbered 350 and 413 respectively. All four drawings are rendered in graphite (some with color highlights in either red or green on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper, and show minor handling and edge wear. The drawing numbered 413 shows shows the heaviest tanning and wear and part of the lower left corner is torn off. Condition on the group is Very Good.
