Description

Mickey Mouse's Picnic Little Golden Book File of 44 Drawings with Four Communications and Print by Disney Legend Manuel Gonzales (Walt Disney, 1950). Join Mickey Mouse and friends on an idyllic picnic with this lot full of extensive drawings, communications, and a print from the 1950 golden book Mickey Mouse's Picnic. The drawings were created by Disney Legend Manuel Gonzales (1913 - 1993), the Mousecar award-winning artist who created comic strips that explored Mickey and friends life off of the big screen as well as created promotional strips for feature films like Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, and Lady and the Tramp. The book followed Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Daisy, Pluto, and Clarabelle as they went on a picnic without inviting Donald. The duck later appears after the group's food is stolen and lets them join his picnic, though they soon discover Donald was the one who stole their feast. Gonzales rendered the drawings in this lot beautifully in color pencil, graphite, and ink on paper and onionskin paper with one print and communications detailing corrections. The group measures about 11'' x 14'' in the folder. Good condition with light age-related toning, faint edge and handling wear, small tears, and folds were some larger drawings were stored.
From the Disney Legend Manuel Gonzalez Archive.
