    Description

Mary Blair "It's a Small World" Wooden Panel Group of 5 (c. 1980s-90s). Very unique group of five 6' wooden panels, decorated with fanciful carvings of Russian houses, onion-dome towers, and hills with foliage. The design faithfully follows a Mary Blair "It's a Small World" preliminary painting, as seen on page 167 of John Canemaker's book, Magic Color Flair: The World of Mary Blair. These large panels form a single image when put together. The three middle pieces are 15" wide, while the two end pieces are 13" wide. The panels were at one time hinged together, similar to a room divider; the hinges have been removed, and the panels are now wired in back for use as wall-hanging decorations. From a longtime Disney collector, who purchased the panels in the early 1990s; it's one heck of a great folk art piece in its own right. The level of detailed carving and hand-painting is amazing, with beautiful colors. There is minor handling wear; overall condition is Very Good. Third party shipping will be required.
